School’s mission and culture. The Rector
is also holding Thursday evening Parent Information
Meetings throughout the spring and summer. After
we open in the Fall, there will be Open Houses,
at which interested students and their families
may take a tour of the School and speak with
current students, parents, and faculty.
 As
we re-open George Washington’s beloved
Alexandria Academy, we seek young scholars who
are “eager to learn and willing to work.”
Unlike some highly selective schools, we do
not “skim” the top students based
on a single standardized test. We interview
parents, follow up on references and—most
importantly—interview the boy or girl
seeking admission.
Students
who thrive in a challenging environment that
emphasizes character development, academic excellence,
and broad extracurricular involvement may find
the Academy an ideal place to learn and grow.
Here, good students who work hard will find
all the academic support they need to succeed.
Exceptional students are required to demonstrate
their desire to stretch the limits of their
abilities. All students are pressed to achieve
